WOODBRIDGE, VA — Two men were arrested this week in connection with an October homicide that left a 21-year-old Norfolk man dead. Najoun Devon Courtney, 21, and Tre Rose, 19, were taken into custody for their role in the fatal shooting of Nathaniel Hickson, according to Prince William County police.

The shooting happened shortly after 11 p.m. Oct. 21. Officers responded to a parking lot in the 1900 block of Briar Rose Lane to find Hickson unresponsive and suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers attempted to resuscitate Hickson, who was eventually taken to a nearby hospital where he died.

After investigating the shooting, police said the suspects and the victims were meeting to purchase marijuana when the suspects attempted to rob Hickson, resulting in shots being fired. Both suspects fled the scene following the shooting.
