Wanted Woodbridge Man Tried To Rape Family Member: Police
Authorities are looking for a man accused of trying to sexually assault a family member in a Woodbridge apartment on Wednesday morning.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities are looking for a Woodbridge man accused of trying to rape a family member on Wednesday morning, the Prince William County Police Department said.
The victim, a 22-year-old woman, reported minor injuries in the assault.
Authorities identified the suspect as 27-year-old Miguel Angel Ibarra Chavez. He is charged with attempted rape, domestic assault and battery, and preventing the summoning of law enforcement.

If convicted of all charges, Ibarra Chavez could face up to 11 years in prison, based on Virginia's sentencing guidelines.
The police department described Ibarra Chavez as a Hispanic man who is 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighs 160 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes, a goatee, and several tattoos.

The assault occurred around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday at the Springwoods at Lake Ridge apartments. Authorities said Ibarra Chavez and a family member had an argument that escalated.
During the dispute, Ibarra Chavez pinned the victim down and tried to sexually assault her, the police department said. The victim pulled away and grabbed her phone to call for police. Ibarra Chavez grabbed the phone and scratched the victim during the struggle, authorities said.
The victim was eventually able to contact authorities, and Ibarra Chavez left the apartment before police officers arrived.
Investigators have been unable to locate Ibarra Chavez.
