Warming Center Open In Manassas, Dumfries On Wednesday As Thousands Still Don't Have Power

Warming centers are returning to Prince William County on Wednesday as more than 3,000 people in the county are still without power.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Warming centers will open in Prince William County on Wednesday afternoon, the county announced. Two warming centers, one in Manassas and one in Dumfries, will be open until 5 p.m. on Wednesday.

The facilities will have heat, restrooms, and power for charging phones and other mobile devices. Masks or face coverings are required at the warming centers.

  • Buckhall Volunteer Fire Department
    • 7190 Yates Ford Road, Manassas
    • Open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Dumfries Community Center
    • 17755 Main Street, Dumfries
    • Open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

In Prince William County, approximately 3,800 customers were still without power at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, according to Poweroutage.us. Thousands of residents around Prince William County lost power on Monday when a winter storm dumped several inches of snow on the region.

Dominion Energy is working on 154 different projects in the county, according to their outage map. Crews are currently working on an outage in Dale City, and expect power to be restored between 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
