Winter Weather Advisory for Lake Ridge

Snow will be heavier elsewhere, but impact will be felt here, says the National Weather Service.

The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory Wednesday for the region, including Lake Ridge.

“Periods of snow will cause travel difficulties,” according to the NWS. “Be prepared for slippery roads and limited visibilities and use caution while driving.”

Between 2 to 5 inches of snow are expected to accumulate in the far northern and western suburbs of Washington, D.C. A coating of up to an inch is expected near Interstate 95.

Rain is expected to change to snow in the morning and the heaviest snow will be between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m., according to the weather service.

Roads may become snow covered and slippery, particularly in the areas with the heavier snow forecasted. Snow is also likely to reduce visibility.
