Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to the scene to investigate a shooting. That's where they found the victim, 35, of Woodbridge. An investigation found the incident happened outside a residence during a drug transaction. Police say the victim was talking to multiple occupants of a vehicle when he was shot by someone inside.
As it turns out, though, Brewer apparently took a gun from the victim and shot him when he tried to intervene.
