PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, VA — Voters arrived Tuesday morning to find long lines as many commuters were among the first to cast ballots on Election Day in Prince William County. Polls are open until 7 p.m.

Voters are making a pick for president, with Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump sharing the ballot with Libertarian Gary Johnson, Green Party candidate Jill Stein and independent Evan McMullin.

Clinton has led in polls in Virginia throughout the election cycle, but Trump has closed the gap in recent weeks.

Know what's on the ballot. In addition to the presidential election, Prince William County residents will be voting on who they will send to the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1st, 10th and 11th Congressional Districts depending on where they live in the county. People can find their voting district and read the two referendums included on this year's ballot at elections.virginia.gov.

Know where you go to vote. Residents can see where to vote by visiting the Virginia Department of Elections at elections.virginia.gov and filling in their name, date of birth, the last four digits of their Social Security number and locality.

Understand how you will vote. People who haven't voted since the last presidential election will find a new way of voting when they arrive at the polling place. The county is using new voting machines that use scanners and paper instead of the older touch screen machines. See a video tutorial on using the machines on the County's YouTube channel.
