Woodbridge Fake Cop Suspect Arrested In Fairfax County
A man who posed as a cop last week in Woodbridge in what what turned out to be a hot vehicle was arrested Friday by Fairfax County Police.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — A man who tried to pass himself off as a cop last week in what what turned out to be a stolen vehicle was arrested Friday by Fairfax County Police, according to Prince William County Police. Tyson Rascher, 19, of the 6000 block of Martins Landing Lane in Burke, was charged with impersonating a police officer (third offense) and eluding police. He's being held without bond.
Shortly before 10:30 p.m., police responded to the area of Prince William Parkway and Reids Prospect Drive for a report of suspicious vehicle. Someone reported that a white 2016 Chevrolet Silverado activated blue flashing lights mounted on the sun visors pulled over a 2005 Mercury Mountaineer. An investigation found that the Silverado driver got out and identified himself as an off-duty cop.

But that's when a marked Prince William County Police cruiser pulled in behind the Silverado and turned on his emergency lights. Ruh-Roh, as Scooby-Doo might say. The real cop walked toward the vehicles but then the Silverado took off, and the real cop found it unoccupied shortly thereafter. The vehicle had been stolen in Fairfax County earlier that day.
