Woodbridge Hit-And-Run Victim's Loved Ones Seek Answers
The hit-and-run victim killed by a vehicle in Woodbridge leaves behind two daughters, who are getting support through a fundraiser.
WOODBRIDGE, VA — The family and friends of the hit-and-run victim in Woodbridge are seeking answers and support for her two daughters.
Carla "Casey" Andrea Mejia, 27, of Woodbridge, was killed while walking in the area of Minnieville Road and Bobcat Court last Saturday. Prince William County Police say Mejia was wearing all dark clothing and walking in the westbound lane of Minnieville Road a vehicle struck her.
The vehicle was believed to be a Hyundai and that did not stop, according to police. Mejia was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to support Mejia's two daughters and funeral costs. In leiu of flowers, donations are also being accepted on her obituary page.
"Her two daughters are now left without their mother," wrote Mejia's cousin Brian Zepeda. "Both of the daughters are still in elementary school. We need all the help we can get to help provide Carla Mejia a nice funeral.

Family and friends showed up to Mejia's vigil, describing her to DC News Now as a "kind" and "optimistic" person.
