Woodbridge Man Arrested For Firing Gun In Front Yard: Police

A Woodbridge man allegedly fired several rounds into the ground in front of his home in the presence of a 13-year-old male, police said.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Woodbridge residents called police Friday night after hearing gunshots in the neighborhood, according to the Prince William County Police Department. After an investigation, the police learned that a man allegedly had fired several rounds into the ground in front of his home in the presence of a 13-year-old male family member.

Police officers collected several shell casings from the ground in front of the house in the 4600 block of Telfair Court and found the firearm inside the residence. No injuries or property damage were reported, the police said.

Following their investigation, the police arrested Zeeshan Mughal, 38, and charged him with child neglect, reckless handling of a firearm and discharge of firearms in public. Mughal, who is being held in the Prince William County jail without bond, has a March 9 court hearing, the police said.
