Woodbridge Man Charged In Shooting Death Of 19-Year-Old: Police

Prince William County police detectives arrested a suspect in the killing of a 19-year Woodbridge man in mid-July.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Prince William County police detectives arrested a suspect Friday in the killing of a 19-year Woodbridge man in mid-July. Carlos Ernesto Perez Trujillo, 23, is being held in jail without bond on a charge of second degree murder, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

On the night of July 14, Prince William County officers went to Valleywood Drive and Colebrook Lane in Woodbridge to investigate a report of gunshots fired in the area. Two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Micah Antonio Mutz was located nearby on Oakwood Drive suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers used trauma kits and initiated CPR until rescue personnel arrived at the scene. Mutz later died at the hospital.

While investigating the shooting, Perez Trujillo of Woodbridge arrived at an area hospital, also suffering from gunshot injuries, according to the police.

In their investigation, the police said they determined that Perez Trujillo and Mutz were involved in an argument that escalated into shots being fired. The two men were known to one another, the police said Friday.

Perez Trujillo has a court date of Sept. 29.
