Woodbridge Restaurant Inspections: 10 Violations At 2 Locations

The Prince William Health District cited ten violations during inspections at a pair of locations in the Woodbridge area recently.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — During recent inspections, the Prince William Health District cited several violations at a pair of Woodbridge locations, according to inspection reports. The inspections occurred on Nov. 22 and Nov. 23.

Though some coronavirus restrictions continue to fluctuate around the state, health inspectors are returning to conduct many restaurant inspections in person. However, some visits, such as those for training purposes, can be conducted virtually.

Violations at restaurants typically focus on factors that can contribute to food contamination. The local health department can also perform a re-inspection to ensure that possible violations have been corrected.

For every observed violation, the inspector provides a specific corrective action that can be completed to rectify the violation. Sometimes these are simple, and violations can be corrected during the course of the inspection.       • The prepared ready-to-eat a bag of cooked turkey in the refrigeration unit is not properly dated for disposition.( The person in charge discarded the the cooked turkey in the trash for disposition.
      • Unlabeled food containers with the following food items that are not easily identified by appearance: Different types of cereal in the see through containers without names for identification.
      • The paper plates were observed stored unprotected on the shelves in the kitchen.

      • Employees are not properly trained in food safety as it relates to their assigned duties.
      • There is no person in charge with a valid Food Protection Manager Certification from an accredited agency recognized by the Conference for Food Protection.
      • Employees and conditional employees are not aware of the reporting procedures concerning information about their health as they relate to the symptoms caused by illness, infection, or other source that is associated with an acute gastrointestinal illness or a lesion.
