WOODBRIDGE, VA — Authorities are still working to identify the person who shot a 17-year-old boy in Woodbridge on Sunday night.

The victim's injuries were not life-threatening, the Prince William County Police Department said.

Investigators did not provide any information about the shooter in a report on Monday. No criminal charges have been announced.

"Detectives are actively following-up on leads regarding the identity of the shooter," the police department said.

The shooting occurred around 7:30 p.m. on Sunday night near the intersection of Prince William Parkway and Summerland Drive. There, an occupant in one vehicle fired a gunshot into the other vehicle, striking the victim, authorities said.

"The juvenile was driven to an area hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries," the police department said. "No other injuries or property damage were reported. This incident was not random."

Authorities noted that the shooting was not random.
