Woodbridge Supervisor, Senate Primaries: Incumbents Face Challengers
Woodbridge voters will be heading to the polls Tuesday to cast ballots in the Democratic and Republican Party Primaries for local races.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — Woodbridge voters will be casting ballots on Tuesday in the 2023 Democratic and Republican Party primaries for local races.
Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Any voter still in line at 7 p.m. will be able to vote.
Six Democratic races will be on ballots throughout the Woodbridge area on Tuesday. There are also a pair of Republican primaries for county positions.

There are four primary races for roles on the Prince William Board of County Supervisors. Incumbent Democrat Ann Wheeler faces a challenge from Deshundra Jefferson for the Democratic nomination for chairman on the board of supervisors.
Republicans Kenneth Knarr and Jeanine Lawson are vying for the Republican nomination for chairman on the county board.

In the Neabsco district, which encompasses most of the Dale City area, incumbent supervisor Victor Angy is being challenged by Nate "Coach" Murphy for the district's Democratic nomination.
In the neighboring Potomac District, incumbent supervisor Andrea Bailey faces a challenge from Kim Short.
Voters in the Woodbridge area will also see three different primaries for the Virginia Senate. The 29th state senate district will have a Republican and a Democratic primary on Tuesday.
The Democrat race in the district features incumbent Jeremy McPike and Elizabeth Guzman, who currently serves on the House of Delegates.
The Republican race is between Nikki Rattray Baldwin and Maria Martin.
The 33rd district of the Virginia Senate will also have a Democratic primary between two former delegates, Jennifer Carrol Foy and Hala Ayala.
The House of Delegates' 19th district features a Democratic primary with three options, Rozia Henson, Makya Little, and Natalie Louise Shorter.
Voting Requirements and Registration
Residents can check their voter registration status online. In 2022, Virginia eliminated voter registration deadlines. Voters can now register on Election Day and vote using a provisional ballot.
Voters can only vote in one party's primary in Virginia, but they do not have to register in advance. At their polling site, voters will indicate which party's primary they would like to vote in.
Voters can find their polling place online. The Prince William County Office of Elections operates a website that allows voters to view sample ballots for upcoming races.
