Worship Watch Training Hosted By Prince William Police
The Prince William County police recommends faith-based organizations become more involved in creating safer places of worship.

WOODBRIDGE, VA — The Prince William County Police Department's Crime Prevention Unit is hosting a Securing Your House of Worship training for faith-based organizations on Feb. 25 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The training session is part of its Worship Watch program and is open to all faith-based organizations. The police department is requiring registration because seats are limited.
Houses of worship are encouraged to become more involved in reducing the opportunity for crimes to occur on their premises. The training will cover several topics, including creating a safer house of worship, putting together security/safety teams, and preparing for active violence events. The police department also plans to introduce attendees to its Worship Watch program.
The police department, which holds these trainings on a regular basis, recommends that not all members of a congregation attend the training. Information will be provided that can be brought back and shared with a congregation.
