2019 Election: 45,300 Ballots Left To Tally In Pierce County
Two Pierce County races were within recount range after Thursday's ballot drop.

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — Nearly 30,000 ballots were processed in Pierce County Thursday, leaving about 45,000 left to count, according to the Auditor's Office. County elections officials have processed more than 155,000 ballots since Election Day. At last update, countywide voter turnout hovered around 30 percent.
The Auditor's Office said two races, Sumner City Council's District 7 match-up between Charla Rae Newman and Earle Stuard, and the Port of Tacoma Commissioner Position 5 race between Kristin Ang and Dave Bryant, were within recount range after Thursday's count. Party observers also completed another hand audit to check for discrepancies during the Thursday tally.
