Man Charged In Interstate 5 On-Ramp Shooting Near Fife
A Graham man was arrested Thursday after several shots were fired at a semi-truck following a rear-end collision.

TACOMA, WA — A man suspected of shooting several rounds at a semi-truck after a crash near Fife last week faced two charges in Pierce County Superior Court Monday. Troopers were called to a southbound on-ramp near Port of Tacoma Road shortly after 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Investigators said it appeared the driver of a silver Saturn had shot at the truck after a minor rear-end collision. Troopers said they found several shell casings near the scene and arrested a man without incident.
According to the News Tribune, court documents allege the suspect, a 40-year-old Graham man, fired at least 15 rounds, including a bullet that struck near the driver's seat. The truck driver said he heard loud noises and saw smoke and thought there was a mechanical issue with his truck and pulled over. When the other driver approached him, yelling and showing a pistol, he called 911. The investigation shut down the on-ramp for several hours, leading to traffic delays in the area.
The man pleaded not guilty to one first-degree assault charge and an additional charge related to carrying a gun without a permit. A judge set his bail at $25,000.
