Bellevue Police Officer Resigns Following Redmond Arrest
A Bellevue police officer arrested in Redmond last month has now resigned, following an internal investigation.
BELLEVUE, WA — A Bellevue police officer has resigned more than a month after he was arrested at his Redmond home. According to the Bellevue Police Department, David Wright, 48, was arrested while off-duty, following a "domestic disturbance" involving a family member on July 9.
On Thursday, Bellevue Police Chief Steve Mylett announced Wright handed in his resignation following an internal investigation. The officer was employed with the Bellevue Police Department since May 2017.
Before Wright's resignation, he was placed on administrative leave, pending the completion of the internal probe by the department's Office of Accountability.
