BELLEVUE, WA - Bellevue police have arrested three people suspected of carrying out a series of violent robberies recently. The robbers were apparently walking up to women at local shopping plazas and snatching necklaces off victims.
Three robberies took place last Thursday, according to police. Bellevue detectives were able to identify three people in connection to the robberies. An 18-year-old Bellevue man was arrested on Saturday. On Monday, police arrested a 16-year-old from Covington and a 22-year-old from Federal Way. All three were arrested on second-degree robbery charges.
Chain-snatching robberies have been reported across the Eastside over the last year. This spring, there were at least three such robberies in north Bellevue and southwest Redmond, in the vicinity of the Microsoft campus.
