The roundup runs through scores from dozens of Washington schools, giving local fans a quick snapshot of how teams across the state fared on Sept. 25.
   

2. 45 Years of Building Businesses and People: Yoshi Yokoyama's Legacy (napost.com) — Bellevue's dining scene owes much to Yoshihisa "Yoshi" Yokoyama, who opened one of the city's first Japanese restaurants after arriving in 1981 and spotting a gap from Bellevue City Hall. The piece lists 2024 award winners across the country and highlights how dairy plants are using training, data, and strong safety cultures to reduce injuries and keep employees safer on the job.
   

4. Camp in rural WA aims to change perception of what it means to hunt (seattletimes.com) — Bellevue residents feature prominently in a rural northeastern Washington hunting camp that aims to reframe hunting as an ethical, reflective way to connect with food and nature. 5. Seattle gets a new light rail station, and then a long wait (seattletimes.com) — Sound Transit's new Pinehurst light rail station in North Seattle opens this week, slightly reshaping how riders connect to lines that also serve Bellevue and Redmond. While the stop may see light use at first, future housing, bus links, and the expanding 1 and 2 Lines could eventually give Eastside commuters more options and relieve pressure on nearby stations.
