• Incoming Blaine childcare center among recipients of $56 million in state grants (kpug1170.com) — A new childcare center planned at the Peace Arch Montessori site on Cherry Street in Blaine has secured just over $850,000 in state grant funding. The money will help buy and renovate the property, creating space for up to 41 local children ages 1 to 6 as part of a broader statewide early learning investment. 
• Bellingham cyclist riding on I-5 shoulder struck by car after two-vehicle crash (tri-cityherald.com) — A Blaine woman driving a Kia was involved in a two-car crash on northbound I-5 south of Bellingham Tuesday, where one vehicle veered into a cyclist riding on the shoulder. She and the other driver were uninjured, but the Bellingham cyclist was airlifted to Seattle, and charges may be pending for the Blaine driver.
