Bonney Lake Recycling Rates Set To Increase
Residents will have a chance to attend a hearing about the increase at an upcoming City Council meeting.

BONNEY LAKE, WA - Bonney Lake's recycling provider, DM Disposal, also called Murreys Disposal, wants to raise rates 8.3 percent starting this summer. The company is citing "recent volatility in global recycling markets" as the reason for needing the increase.
Before the increase goes into effect in July, residents will have a chance to address the proposal in front of City Council. Here's the public notice on the meeting published by the city:
In accordance with RCW 35A.21.152, the City of Bonney Lake hereby gives notice of its intent to increase solid waste collection rates on July 1, 2018, and to incorporate an aggregate 8.3% rate increase for both residential and commercial service.
DM Disposal will provide a presentation on the proposed rate increase to the Bonney Lake City Council on May 15, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Justice & Municipal Center, 9002 Main Street, Bonney Lake, WA 98391. Please contact Gary Leaf, Facilities and Special Projects Manager at (253) 447-3282 for further information.
Recycling price increases are partly due to new solid waste policies adopted by China.
