• 10-Year-Old Girl Dies After Drowning at Lake Tapps – [your]NEWS (yournews.com) — A 10-year-old girl from the Bonney Lake area has died after being pulled from Lake Tapps earlier this month, despite extensive rescue and medical efforts. Officials confirm drowning as the cause of death and are using the tragedy to stress life jackets and extra caution for children around Lake Tapps and other open water near Bonney Lake. 
• Pierce County city ends animal control agreement to cut costs. Here's the plan (thenewstribune.com) — Bonney Lake remains a client of Metro Animal Services even as the city of Milton ends its contract this fall to save money and bring animal control in-house. The change could affect how regional resources are shared among Bonney Lake and other partner cities that still rely on Metro for animal care and control.
