Clean Up Today with Sumner's Shred & Clean
Come recycle unwanted items all in one place

Whether you are spring cleaning or simply want to get rid of unwanted items, the is having its second clean up event.
"It is a unique event," said Charlie Nordeck, Sumner resident. "You can bring so many different things to one location and recycle all at once."
Nordeck and his wife Nancy came up with the idea of having the clean up after attending a Kiwanis District Convention. They approached the city and now residents have the chance to recycle their unwanted items.

Viviana Burrill, a Bonney Lake resident, owns three Liberty Tax services in Bonney Lake, Graham and Auburn. She brought old documents dating back to the 1970s to be shredded.
"I am a recycler," she said. "I believe in it and have been doing it for 15-20 years."

As for Kim Groon, an Orting resident, she was spring cleaning and brought house old items to recycle.
"This (the clean up) is really great," Groon said. "It is better than having to drive to the dump."
The event will be going on today, Saturday, April 30 from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm at Maple St. & Alder Ave. (Old Red Apple Parking Lot) in Sumner.
A list of the following items you can recycle at the clean up:
- Sensitive documents for immediate shredding
- Left-over prescriptions to Sumner Police
- Light bulbs & batteries to McLendon Hardware
- Old cell phones to YWCA for violence victims
- Clothes, household items and electronics to Goodwill
