• Pacific NorthWest Allied Grocery Stores October Contract Action Team Meetings — UFCW 3000 (ufcw3000.org) — Union grocery workers and supporters in Burien can join a Pacific NorthWest Allied Grocery Stores contract action team meeting on Tuesday, October 20, 2026, at 4 p.m. at Round Table Pizza on 1st Ave South. Similar meetings are happening across Washington that week, giving members a chance to ask questions, connect with reps, and prepare for upcoming contract talks.
   

• WA minimum wage will rise to $17.73 an hour in 2027 (seattleweekly.com) — Starting Jan. 1, 2027, Washington's minimum wage will rise to $17.73 an hour, which also boosts the salary threshold for overtime-exempt workers.
