• Woman submits Alford plea in animal cruelty case (peninsuladailynews.com) — A Sequim woman whose property lies southwest of Carlsborg has entered an Alford plea to five felony animal-cruelty charges, avoiding trial while not admitting guilt. Prosecutors and her attorney are recommending a two-year mental health sentencing alternative after deputies removed more than 200 neglected animals from her rural property, with final sentencing set for Nov. 19 in Clallam County Superior Court.
