• Single-Car Crash into Fence Injures One in Predawn Wreck (newsline.com) — Early Monday morning in Covington, a single car crashed into a fence around 2:43 a.m., injuring one person and drawing a response from Engine 378. The victim was alert and treated at the scene, and investigators are still determining what caused the wreck. More information on the patient’s condition and any legal follow-up is expected. 
• Deborah Schaeffer, 68 (dailyinterlake.com) — Covington readers may recognize the family of Maria Cavallero, a local resident whose mother, Debbie Mae Schaeffer, has passed away at 68 in Kalispell, Montana. The obituary recalls Debbie’s Washington roots, her decades of marriage, love of family, and hobbies like woodworking, fishing, and crocheting, and notes a celebration of life will be held this summer.
