Construction on more Hwy 99 upgrades in Edmonds set to begin in 2029 (heraldnet.com) — Major safety and streetscape upgrades are coming to Edmonds' Highway 99 corridor, with the first construction segment between 244th and 238th Streets expected to start in 2029. The city plans wider sidewalks, bike lanes, safer crosswalks, better lighting and stormwater improvements, though full funding for later segments is still uncertain and work could stretch well into the next decade.
   

2. Olympic Ballet Theatre announces 2026/27 Performance Season (shorelineareanews.com) — Olympic Ballet Theatre is bringing a full 2026–27 season to Edmonds Center for the Arts, including The Nutcracker this December and major productions through next May. Local audiences can choose single tickets or discounted season packages and even attend special daytime Nutcracker matinees designed for schools and youth groups from Edmonds and nearby communities.
   

3. Edmonds Arts Festival seeks volunteers for 2027 leadership team (myedmondsnews.com) — If you love Edmonds' arts scene, organizers are recruiting volunteer Festival Directors now for the 2027 Edmonds Arts Festival, one of the city's biggest annual celebrations. Roles span marketing, operations, arts programming and kids' activities, with a Sept. 30 meet-and-greet at ArtWorks Edmonds and an online application available for those who can't attend.
   

4. Prep football picks: Experts make their Week 3 predictions (heraldnet.com subscription) — High school football experts are weighing in on Week 3, and they're unanimous in picking Edmonds-Woodway to beat Hazen. The prediction lists also feature several other Wesco and Snohomish County matchups, giving Edmonds fans a quick snapshot of how local teams are expected to fare this week.
