• Edmonds Fiscal Sustainability Task Force draws 39 applicants (myedmondsnews.com) — Edmonds has drawn 39 applicants for its new Fiscal Sustainability Task Force, which will help shape the city's long-term budget priorities and financial transparency. A smaller group of up to 15 members will be recommended to the Edmonds City Council after a scoring process, with meetings and recommendations shared publicly. 
• City of Edmonds seeks volunteers for Arts Commission and Planning Board (myedmondsnews.com) — Edmonds residents are being invited to apply for an opening on the Edmonds Arts Commission and an alternate seat on the Edmonds Planning Board, both of which shape local culture and land use. Terms, eligibility, and application details are outlined, with materials due to the city by Sept. 11, 2026.
• Community Transit to open new park and ride in Cathcart (heraldnet.com) — Community Transit is opening the new Cathcart Park and Ride on Aug. 29, with Route 166 linking it directly to downtown Edmonds and other routes adjusting across south Snohomish County. Edmonds riders will see fewer late-night trips on Routes 102 and 909, while several Lynnwood-area and regional routes gain added service and frequency.
