Another Wild Morgan Irwin Rescue, This Time With A Backhoe

Remember when the Seattle officer and Enumclaw state rep commandeered a jet ski? He's at it again.

SEATTLE, WA - He's a police officer, a state representative, and, apparently some type of magnet for wild rescues. Just a few months after he commandeered a jet ski to save two people on Lake Washington, he recently took control of a backhoe to rescue a man teetering on the edge of a highway overpass.

Last Thursday afternoon, Irwin and several other officers responded to the Spokane Street Viaduct in Seattle on a report of a man standing on a 6-inch ledge. Irwin watched as the man started slipping - then he sprang into action.

He flagged down a man driving a backhoe nearby. The backhoe driver then raised the bucket up to the man, allowing him to get down safely. It's unclear why the 48-year-old man was on the ledge, but he was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Look for Irwin's next adventure, where he'll jump out of a helicopter onto the roof an out-of-control King County Metro bus, or something like that.
