• ‘Keep those sparks off the landscape' (hagadonenewsnetwork.com) — Burn restrictions are now in effect through September 30 across unincorporated Grant County, and Ephrata’s fire chief is warning residents that one spark could quickly turn into a dangerous wildfire. You can’t burn yard debris or garbage, but permitted agricultural burns and carefully managed campfires are still allowed. Officials urge Ephrata-area residents to maintain equipment, clear dry vegetation, and take the rules seriously.

• Ephrata Woman Facing Assault Charges For Allegedly Spitting On Four Law Enforcement Officers (kpq.com) — Local police say a 27-year-old Ephrata woman was arrested after an alleged domestic assault and is now accused of spitting on three officers during the arrest and a corrections deputy at the Grant County Jail. She faces five counts of fourth-degree assault connected to the incident, four involving law enforcement and one tied to the alleged domestic violence.
