• Jury convicts man in Everett murder staged as suicide (heraldnet.com) — A Snohomish County jury has convicted a man of first-degree murder and related charges in the 2024 death of his girlfriend inside her Madison Street apartment in Everett. The case, which involved Everett police and a lengthy forensic review, centered on whether the death was suicide or homicide; sentencing is scheduled for July 22.

Students from Everett and other Washington communities answered civics questions and pitched community-improvement ideas, with a Lyle seventh-grader ultimately winning the state title and advancing to the national competition.
