• NUWC Division, Keyport Employee Spotlight: Erik Rydbom (einpresswire.com) — A Navy undersea warfare engineer who was born and raised in Federal Way is being recognized for his leadership in seismic modeling and submarine safety work at NUWC Division, Keyport. His path ran from local construction jobs and Bates Technical College to advanced engineering degrees and mentoring students, while he continues to enjoy outdoor hobbies and model‑building in Washington. 
• King County Metro announces major service expansion (fox13seattle.com) — Major transit changes are coming to Federal Way, including new Metro Flex on‑demand service starting August 31 and a new DART Route 902 replacing existing Federal Way DART routes. Riders will see more frequent buses, longer service hours, and added weekend trips across South King County, but some routes serving Federal Way are being deleted or reconfigured, so checking updated schedules will be important.
