• Out-of-state network floods Seattle with unpermitted hot dog vendors (mynorthwest.com) — Federal Way is among several cities where a coalition of more than 200 licensed Mexican restaurants says unlicensed taco stands are operating without King County health permits. Officials also link a surge of unpermitted hot dog vendors near Seattle stadiums to out-of-state operators. Local businesses report steep sales losses and growing concerns about food safety and fair competition. 
• $9M in lottery winnings expiring statewide (heraldnet.com) — If you’ve bought Washington Lottery tickets, you can claim prizes at the Federal Way regional office on weekdays, but millions in winnings are set to expire soon statewide. Twenty-seven unclaimed prizes, including jackpots over $600,000, will lapse within months if winners don’t act. Any unclaimed money is redirected to college and early childhood education programs in Washington.
