• Bus routes to and from Seattle are changing next month. Here's what to know (thenewstribune.com) — Bus riders will soon see big changes as Sound Transit reroutes service so Route 574 runs every 15 minutes between Lakewood and the Federal Way Link light rail station, shifting airport trips to a train transfer in Federal Way. Other express routes to Seattle are being adjusted or eliminated, meaning Federal Way’s light rail hub becomes an even more important connection point for South Sound commuters. 
• Watchdog data shows higher WA child welfare deaths than previously reported (mymltnews.com) — New watchdog data shows more Washington children connected to the child welfare system died or nearly died in 2025 than the state previously reported, prompting renewed concern from lawmakers. Federal Way Sen. Claire Wilson, who helps oversee the system, says communities statewide must work together on solutions as officials explore staffing fixes, drug treatment expansions, and accountability measures.
