Trainings will use blank ammunition indoors and wrap up by 8 p.m. Officials are announcing the plans after an unannounced school-based training last year raised concerns among Ferndale parents. 
• Authorities say fugitive wanted in 2016 vehicular homicide near Ferndale is dead (bellinghamherald.com) — Investigators have confirmed that a Lynden man long wanted for a 2016 vehicular homicide near Ferndale has died after years on the Washington State Patrol’s Most Wanted list. The crash, along West Pole Road, killed passenger Georgianna James and led to charges against another man for helping the driver flee. Authorities say James’ family has been notified and hope the news offers some closure.
