City Of Gig Harbor: CONSTRUCTION & ROAD CLOSURE INFORMATION - Harborview Dr./Stinson Ave. Intersection Improvements

The City of Gig Harbor will be starting the first phase of the Harborview/ Stinson Intersection Improvement Project on August 23, 2021. This phase will consist of the installation of underground utilities and is expected to run through October 2021.

The City will suspend the project through the winter months beginning November 1, 2021 and construction will commence again for the roadway work starting on March 1, 2022.

• August 23 thru September 3:  Expect alternating flagger controlled lane closures through the work zone which will result in long traffic delays.  Emergency vehicle access during this time will be a priority and unrestricted.  
• September 7 thru September 10:  A complete road closure of Harborview Drive just north of the Harborview Drive and Stinson intersection will be required.  This closure will be a 24-hour closure with no vehicular access allowed through the work zone including emergency vehicles.  See attached detour map. Following this full closure of Harborview Drive, we will return to alternating flagger controlled traffic control for the duration of this phase of the project.
