• Washington could see best coho return in 20 years (fox13seattle.com) — Salmon are crowding back into Issaquah Creek, and hatchery staff are racing to collect 3.4 million Chinook eggs despite an unusually high number of males. Coho have been slow to reach Issaquah so far, but strong counts at the Ballard Locks suggest residents could soon witness the best Coho return in two decades once fall rains arrive.
   

• Western Washington drug trafficker sentenced after federal investigation (chronline.com) — Issaquah was one of several Western Washington cities where federal agents executed search warrants in a large 2025 drug trafficking investigation that has now led to a three-year prison sentence for a Federal Way man. Authorities say the ring moved large quantities of meth, cocaine, fentanyl, and heroin, seizing drugs, firearms, and cash in coordinated raids across the region.
