• BBQ benefit for Nippon workers raises more than $80,000 (thenewstribune.com) — A Kalama-based barbecue team helped raise more than $80,000 for families affected by the recent Nippon Dynawave plant disaster, thanks to a packed fundraiser at Bob’s Sporting Goods in Longview. Big Smoke in Little Kalama and other regional pitmasters drew huge crowds, and donations are still being accepted through a dedicated community fund for injured workers and victims’ families.
