Investigators say several Tri-Cities homicides from that month remain open, and they're urging anyone who knows something—no matter how small—to contact detectives or submit an anonymous tip online.

Future of Tri-Cities Animal Services up for debate after cost, ethics concerns (applevalleynewsnow.com) — Kennewick is weighing major changes to Tri-Cities Animal Services that could affect how stray animals are handled and how much the city pays each year. Along with Pasco and Richland, leaders are debating cheaper control-only, shelter-focused, or hybrid models after community concerns about euthanasia and rising costs, and pet owners want a strong voice in whatever plan is chosen.
   

3. Bridgerton events take over Tri-Cities. Kennewick train delay blocks crossings for about four hours (nbcrightnow.com) — Kennewick drivers dealt with major delays yesterday morning after a stalled Burlington Northern Santa Fe train blocked several crossings for about four hours while crews made an unplanned repair on the Columbia River Railway Bridge. Rail traffic was halted as a safety precaution, crossings were shut, and BNSF says trains are now moving again and apologized for the disruption.
