5 Kirkland Residents Identified For Vacant Council Seat

The City Council held a special meeting Tuesday to narrow the list from over 20 applicants.

KIRKLAND, WA - Five city residents have been selected from a field of over 20 to fill a vacant seat on the City Council. Councilwoman Shelley Kloba officially submitted her letter of resignation on Tuesday; she is moving on to represent Kirkland in the state Legislature.

Here are the five candidates selected on Tuesday by the City Council.

  • Dianne Bell
  • Colleen Cullen
  • Andy Held
  • Tom Neir
  • Jon Pascal

A new Council member could be appointed at a Jan. 17 Council meeting. The Council will interview all five candidates during that meeting, and may make an appointment following the interviews.
