• Snohomish County burn ban in effect through end of August (heraldnet.com) — Lake Stevens residents are now under a Snohomish County burn ban through the end of August, restricting all outdoor residential burning but still allowing small recreational and cooking fires in approved pits. Fires must be small, closely monitored, at least 25 feet from structures, and have water on hand. Officials urge extra caution in the dry conditions and provide a hotline for updates.
