After 31 Bikes Stolen, After-School Program Raising $25K To Replace Them
The bikes were stolen over the weekend from the Major Taylor Project at iDEA High School in Tacoma.

TACOMA, WA - Over the weekend, 31 bikes were stolen from the Major Taylor Project (MTP) at iDEA High School near Wapato Park in Tacoma. The MTP program, part of the Cascade Bicycle Club, allows students to get exercise and explore their community through after-school bicycling.
The program was already in the midst of a fundraising campaign to expand when the burglary happened. A Tacoma high school student has started a GoFundMe fundraiser to raise another $25,000 just to replace the 31 stolen bikes.
"I am asking the community to not let the thieves win. We will not be defeated. Please help MTP replace these bikes so we can get my fellow students out there riding again as soon as possible. Your assistance and generosity are greatly appreciated!" Foss High School student Greyson Monaghan-Bergson wrote on the fundraiser page.

As of Wednesday morning, the replacement campaign had raised just shy of $3,000 toward the total $25,000.
The bikes were stolen out of a storage container on the campus of iDEA High School, but the bikes were going to be used at schools across Tacoma.
