Are Fireworks Legal In Lakewood? Brush Up On Local Laws Before July 4

Fireworks are legal in some Pierce County cities - other cities hand out fines to scofflaws.

LAKEWOOD, WA - OK, we get it - fireworks are cool. They're fun to watch, and maybe it's even more fun to be the person lighting them off and impressing everyone. But fireworks are also dangerous - deadly, even - and can set off brush fires. The easiest way to get burned by fireworks, however, is by selling, possessing, or lighting them off in a city where it's illegal.

Laws in Pierce County cities vary on where and when you can discharge and buy fireworks. We've compiled all the regulations so you can tell if your fireworks display is illegal ... or just a safety hazard. One final tip: if you're going to buy fireworks, buy them in the city where you live - that way you avoid bringing potentially illegal fireworks home.
