Expect JBLM Delays Wednesday Due To Emergency Exercises
Visitors or others with business at JBLM should expect delays Wednesday due to a training exercise.

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA – A training exercise at Joint Base Lewis-McChord on Wednesday may cause delays for visitors and those doing business at the base. The base will conduct a "force protection exercise" Wednesday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. The exercise will help prepare personnel to respond to security threats at the base.
Here's what JBLM is saying about the exercise:
JBLM officials are scheduled to conduct a Force Protection exercise Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of an annual Installation Management Command (IMCOM) requirement to ensure JBLM’s leadership and first responders are prepared to respond to a variety of security threats and able to protect people, resources, and property.
During the exercise people working, conducting business, or visiting JBLM should anticipate detours in vehicle traffic patterns, restricted access to some buildings and possible disruption to various customer service activities. JBLM McChord Field residents and visitors can expect to hear exercise alert and warning messages over the 62nd Airlift Wing’s giant voice public address system.
JBLM officials and exercise planners have developed the exercise scenario to ensure response actions do not impede traffic along Interstate 5.
During the exercise people can receive updates to buildings, roadways, and services impacted by the exercise by logging on to the JBLM Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/JBLewisMcChord.
For questions about the exercise, call the JBLM Public Affairs office at (253) 967-0158 or (253) 967-0148.
