Historical Plaque Stolen Off Capitol Campus, WSP Investigating
Washington State Patrol troopers say someone pried a metal plaque off of a historical marker in Olympia, now they're trying to get it back.

OLYMPIA, WA — Someone has stolen the plaque off of the First Territorial Governor Isaac Stevens historical marker on the Capitol. Now, Washington State Patrol troopers are on the case, hoping they can track down whoever is responsible.
It's believed the plaque was stolen sometime during the week of May 11. Troopers say it appears whoever did it pried the plaque off the stone by force.
The stone marker was first placed on the western side of the Capitol Campus in 1924 by the Daughters of the American Revolution. It marks the former location of the home of Washington's first governor, Isaac Stevens. Stevens was governor of Washington from 1853 to 1875.
