JBLM Soldiers Deploying To Mexico Border: Report
Soldiers are being sent to the U.S.-Mexico border to help border patrol agents, according to federal officials.

JOINT BASE LEWIS-MCCHORD, WA - A group of soldiers stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord will head to the U.S.-Mexico border soon, KOMO News is reporting. The eight JBLM soldiers, part of the public affairs division, will help a larger deployment of troops with logistics.
According to the latest reports, about 1,000 Army troops have arrived at three areas along the border. The troops will assist border patrol agents as a group of asylum seekers from Central America heads north through Mexico to the U.S. border.
A total of about 7,000 troops will be sent to the border, although President Donald Trump says he wants 15,000 there.

The caravan of asylum-seekers is still about 800 miles from the U.S. border. They are reportedly traveling on foot. Many of the members of the caravan are getting sick or injured, slowing them down even more.
