Detectives: Newborn Abduction Plan Leads To 2 Arrests In Spanaway
Pierce County investigators said a woman posing as a baby photographer drugged a mother and had plans to steal her newborn.

SPANAWAY, WA — Detectives arrested a 38-year-old woman and her teenage daughter near Spanaway Friday afternoon after reports that the pair drugged a Pierce County mother and had plans to steal her newborn child, the sheriff's department said.
According to investigators, the suspect used aliases including "Juliette Parker," "Juliette Noel," and "Juliette Gains" to advertise free photo sessions for newborn babies on a Facebook group.
The sheriff's department said the victim called 911 on Feb. 5, 2020, and reported she felt numb and drowsy, believing she had been drugged by a woman she met online. After she was treated at the hospital, deputies said the victim reported a woman from the Facebook group had visited her house three times to take photos of her baby.

During one visit, investigators said the newborn's mother noticed the suspect wiping fingerprints off items inside the home and taking selfies with her baby. During the third visit, the woman said the suspect and her teenage daughter gave her a cupcake to eat, and she immediately began to feel drowsy. She told them to leave the house, and quickly noticed her keys were missing.
The sheriff's department said detectives later discovered evidence indicating the suspect had targeted multiple victims and intended to steal a newborn baby to "raise as her own."
