Pierce County Deputies Respond To Two Separate Chainsaw Fights
The Sheriff's Department says two of their deputies had a very eventful Friday night.

PIERCE COUNTY, WA — The Pierce County Sheriff's Department says two of their deputies had a very eventful Friday night when they were called to two different fights involving chainsaws.
The first happened around 3:40 p.m. in the Graham area. That's when dispatchers received a 911 call reporting that a man was waving and threatening two other men with a chainsaw at a home on 269th St, E. The caller also told deputies the man had alternately been armed with a knife and a hammer.
When they arrived, the suspect began to yell at deputies, but when ordered to stop he did, placed his hands on the ground and was arrested otherwise without incident. The deputies say his victims told them he had threatened them with the chainsaw and a shotgun. The 32-year-old suspect has been booked into Pierce County Jail on suspicion of several charges including domestic violence, harassment, and assault.

Then four hours after the first call, those same two deputies were called to a separate fight in the Roy area, also involving a chainsaw. Callers reported that a man was running around a home on 74th Avenue S, holding a chainsaw and chasing people with it.
When the deputies arrived, witnesses told them the incident had started as a fight between two brothers. As they argued, one grabbed a chainsaw and chased the other, who ran indoors and barricaded himself inside the building. The brother armed with the chainsaw then cut several large holes into the home in an apparent attempt to break inside.

When the deputies arrived on scene, the suspect fled. A K9 unit was then called, and after searching for about three quarters of a mile, they came upon the suspect, wading about chest high in a pond and refusing to come out. After a brief negotiation he eventually got out of the water and was arrested.
That 27-year-old suspect was also booked into the Pierce County Jail on suspicion of domestic violence assault.
