• Passenger-only ferry to connect Langley, Everett (whidbeynewstimes.com) — Langley residents will soon be able to ride a new seasonal passenger-only “Harbor Hopper” ferry directly to Everett on Thursdays and Saturdays from June 4 to August 29. The pilot service aims to boost car-free tourism, ease parking pressure in town, and could lead to a permanent Langley–Everett ferry if ridership and sponsorships cover costs. 
• Firewise workdays help Whidbey neighborhoods reduce wildfire risk (whidbeynewstimes.com) — Langley neighborhoods are among several Whidbey communities getting hands-on help from state fire crews to clear vegetation and create defensible space before wildfire season. Through Firewise Community Workdays, residents partner with the Whidbey Island Conservation District and DNR to reduce fuel loads, improve emergency access, and share responsibility for keeping homes and neighbors safer.
