The story explains how local volunteers, Lynnwood civic groups, and the city itself overcame funding and logistical hurdles, and how Lynnwood Parks staff still carefully maintain and seasonally raise the flags each year.

3. Dembowski begins a process to bridge the gap in the Interurban Trail (shorelineareanews.com) — Work is beginning to close the dangerous gap in the Interurban Trail between Shoreline and Snohomish County, reconnecting the route that includes Lynnwood’s existing 1990s-built segment. With $5 million secured for planning and early work, advocates envision a new bridge over Highway 104 that would make biking and walking between Lynnwood, Everett, and Seattle much safer and more seamless.
