Testimony described the assault, its emotional fallout, and tense courtroom moments as the district challenges details and the extent of long-term harm. The case could cost the district up to $50 million. 
• Spokane Transit Authority partners with Direct Medical Transportation for new mobility on-demand pilot (masstransitmag.com) — Mead residents are slated to gain a new on-demand transit option as Spokane Transit Authority rolls out its STA Link pilot, which will include a zone covering the township of Mead. Riders will be able to request curb-to-curb trips via app, web, or phone, connecting to the wider bus network at regular fares. The service launches this fall, with more details coming soon.
